ERNESTINA EGUIA from DALLAS wrote on June 7, 2019 at 4:40 pm:
Ernestina Eguia married into the family from Dallas, Tx. God Bless all the lives that were on the ship or witness the horrific tragedy that day it was forever embedded in you lives forever. My husbands great uncle Garcia, Feliciano, PVT., 38425348., 853 ENGR BN AVN. was a casualty on the Rohna. Now his family has true closer of his name being recognized as one of the soldiers. I wish his sister Dolores Garcia Leija our grandmother was still alive to hear this for closure. All she ever knew he is was missing in action the day her mother got the news that day in 1943 that devastated her family of their big brother oldest son of 7 children. I'm hoping my sons can attend the reunion in VA Beach this weekend since they're stationed in Norfolk VA. Going to buy the book to read and know more about it. Thanks everyone for sharing
